Podfic is, essentially, audiobooks of fanfiction. You take a piece that someone else wrote (or something you wrote yourself, either way), get permission to record it (many authors give blanket permission for that kind of thing), and record yourself reading it. Some people add sound effects or music, some people leave it plain, some people do silly voices and accents, some people choose not to. There's a lot of variety!
It's great because it's a way to consume fanfiction when you normally couldn't, such as when you're going for a jog or drawing or doing anything else that takes enough attention that you can't read.
