The Fandom Snowflake Challenge: Day 10

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts.

1. Coffee shop AU fics of any fandom I'm even vaguely familiar with. I. LOVE. Coffee shop AUs. I know some people hate them, but they are my FAVORITE THING. They are so cozy and happy and domestic and I just love coffee shops anyway, in real life, so yes. Coffee shop AUs. The fluffier the better. If there's smut in there, too, I might explode from happy. Plus, I'll podfic it (I've a goal of recording at least five coffee shop AU podfics this year) if you are interested!

2. Podfic requests. I know, this seems odd, but seriously, I'm trying to record fifty podfics this year, I need some help choosing, and there's nothing I love more than making other people happy. So please please please request podfic of any fic you wrote, or that you like, or that you were thinking of podficcing but won't have time or don't feel comfortable with, or for any reason at all. Really. Details of what I will record are in this post. If you're worried I'm overwhelmed with requests, DON'T BE. I literally have zero specific requests as of this moment. 

3. More blanket permission statements. As a podficcer, it makes my life SO much easier when people have, in their AO3 profiles or on their journal sticky post or somewhere else easily visible, a statement about transformative works. Even if you don't want podfic made of your work, it saves me a lot of time if I know that up-front, rather than having to message you about it and then wait for a response. I will always, always give credit and link back to your original work on AO3 (which, for the record, messages you so you're informed that it happened). It would make me SO happy if more people had permission statements on their profiles.

Also, could you, maybe record this podfic, Intoxicated? It's a Star Trek TOS fic where Spock's parents meet and one of them gets a little intoxicated and starts asking ~questions. This person is okay with podfics! :)

Podfic requests: I would love to see more Lewis podfics, if that's a fandom you could see yourself getting interested in. Otherwise, I'd adore having any of the amazing gifts I've received on AO3 (many of which are Harry Potter fandom) podficced (although, honestly, I don't know whether any of the authors have blanket permission). I can't listen to my own podfics, so having another version of The Pensieve Project out there would also be welcomed. =)

First, if you like CSI at all, I wrote a steam-punk coffee shop threesome called Curiosities, Suspicions and Implications">. It's Gil/Nick/Greg, definitely explicit. I don't know if cozy would be quite the word I'd use, but it's happy and domestic! If it's your cup of java, I hope you enjoy it.

And one of my requests for this day of the challenge is for someone to podfic one of my works. I've got Harry Potter, CSI (the Las Vegas one only), The Sentinel and some other odds and ends at AO3, and I'd be thrilled if you wanted to read any of them.

As for blanket permissions, I put one up in response to a request in last year's FSC, so it's already there. All three!

I've had a blanket permission kicking around on my AO3 profile since last year, and it was really one of the BEST things I've done, fannishly - I've been blessed with some lovely podfics of my stories, but better than that I've made some lovely friends :D.

I've written some bandom and I'm a blanket permission author. Absolutely no pressure. But a lot of it is silly, some of it is sexy. Some of it involves werewolves or college. One involves a coffee shop. And even if I've recorded a thing, a lot of what I've recorded is from bp authors and I believe repods are love. So, yes.

Do you perhaps have some resources on podficcing? I've been considering it myself for a long time, but I have no idea of editing and where to find sound-clips I could use for free. I don't want to deliver poor quality.

Audacity is what I use to edit, it's free and pretty easy to use. If you use mac I've heard good things about Garage Band. Not sure about sound clips, actually, as I haven't used them myself, but I'll let you know if I come across anything!

Yeah, actually, Get It Right Get It Tight might be a great first Sid/Geno one to gear myself up for doing Right on the Limits. I've been putting it off because I'm not sure how I want to do Geno's voice, but it's my very favorite, like, ever.

Voices are tough and you do have to accept that you aren't going to please everyone. I am really pleased with my Geno voice, for me personally, no other voice has come to me so quickly, but I know that there are some people who don't like it. I personally didn't want to attempt an accent, but both lunchee and adistantsun do and I LOVE it. If you ever want a second opinion I am here for you :)

I love your Geno voice, too! It's actually what mine will probably be modeled after, as I'm not really comfortable attempting an accent.

Oooh, I'd love it if you'd do You By My Side, by twentysomething, or Dropped Stitch: Love in the Time of Hockey by tourdefierce (not a BP author, though, you'd have to ask).

<333 Accents are so hard. I did a podfic once where I did the whole thing in an American accent and it was so weird, I really felt like the accent limited my emotional range. It was a good experiment though, I did another version with my own accent for comparison.

I'm adding your suggestions to my podfics list :D This month is the worst for podfccing, but hopefully February will be filled with ALL THE PODFIC \o/

Oooo, I'll suggest any of my fics to be podficed! I don't know if any qualify as fandoms - there's a lot of Sherlock Holmes, but it's mostly ACD and Ritchieverse, and a large portion of that is B/C. Though there may be one of the tiny fandoms that also catches your eye?

I did see that you prefer not to podfic heavy angst/sad ending, which a fair number of my fics are, though by no means all!

Here's a link to my AO3, or I could probably pick out a few specific fics if that's better. (I'm just excited at the thought of having any covered.)
